Return to Work
"Each time I returned from mat leave I was forced to move roles and change teams. Organisations do the bare minimum and I was shocked at how women are treated for having children. So many of my friends have had similar experiences... it's no wonder so many women leave the workplace and decide to work for themselves".
Rachel on her Return to Work
Return to Work is a photo series examining the physical, mental and financial obstacles faced by women as they return to work after the birth of their child.
This new portraiture project aims to explore the hurdles mothers overcome as they return to work - or not - after maternity leave. I will be documenting mothers as they navigate post-partum life and what it means for their work and careers.

I want to hear from mothers with stories to tell - from having to pump in store cupboards to being forced to change career and everything in between. From mothers who love the changes motherhood has brought to their work lives, to the ones who feel let down by employers and the wider societal system.
